Welcome on Board
Public buses are a huge part of our daily lives and commute. The ring of the 'bus stopping' bell, the smell of the seats, the sight of rows and rows of buses at the interchange. How often do we pay attention to these sum of parts?
Riding Through Time exists to drive public engagement with the history of Singapore’s buses, encouraging public participation in writing public memory. Through the use of sensory stimuli throughout the website and physical exhibition, this project hopes to bolster immersion and recollection of our common public experiences.

Why Buses?
-
There is currently no mechanism for preservation of buses in Singapore.
-
Evolution of buses is understudied, especially their subconscious impact on society.
Documenting the history of buses thus helps us to appreciate these lived experiences, lest change happens unnoticed and unacknowledged over time.
Our Mission
1.
To reflect on the transportation history in Singapore and the role of public buses in the experience and daily lives of the public.
2.
To promote a bottom-up approach to encourage public participation in writing about public memory.
3.
To collect written, oral, and multimedia records and public contributions of the experiences of riding buses that reflect different aspects of user experience, complementing the written histories of buses.
